Associate Corporate Counsel
Description

Tilson is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to provide legal guidance and support across a broad range of business operations, including contracts, construction and real estate matters, litigation management, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Working closely with the General Counsel, this role will serve as a trusted business partner, helping to protect the company's legal interests while supporting strategic business objectives.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical, business-focused legal advice to departments including Sales, Construction, Customer Care, Homeowner Guidance, and Human Resources.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of agreements, including construction, real estate, vendor, service, and customer-related contracts.
  • Support construction and real estate transactions, title matters, lien issues, warranty claims, and homeowner-related concerns.
  • Assist with litigation, dispute resolution, claims management, and coordination with outside counsel.
  • Support corporate governance, compliance initiatives, internal investigations, and risk management efforts.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare legal memoranda, and monitor legal developments impacting the business.
  • Partner cross-functionally to resolve legal issues, mitigate risk, and support operational and strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Texas, or eligible for admission in Texas.
  • 2-4 years of legal experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or a combination of both.
  • Experience in construction law, real estate, contracts, litigation management, or corporate law preferred.
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with contract or document management systems is a plus.
