Position Summary
The Part-Time Clubhouse Maintenance Assistant supports the safe, clean, functional, and welcoming operation of the clubhouse and related amenity areas. Working under general supervision, this hands-on role performs routine custodial work, preventive maintenance, room setup, basic repairs, supply management, and timely reporting of facility concerns while providing courteous service to members, guests, vendors, and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Inspect the clubhouse, restrooms, locker rooms, entrances, meeting rooms, storage areas, and surrounding amenities for cleanliness, damage, hazards, and maintenance needs.
· Perform routine cleaning as needed, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, spot cleaning, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, emptying waste and recycling receptacles, and replenishing restroom supplies.
· Complete minor repairs and upkeep such as replacing light bulbs, tightening hardware, adjusting doors, unclogging simple drains, patching small wall areas, and performing paint touch-ups within assigned skill and safety limits.
· Assist with scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain basic records of inspections, completed tasks, and outstanding issues.
· Maintain orderly custodial closets, maintenance work areas, tools, equipment, and inventory; notify the supervisor when supplies require restocking.
· Perform light exterior upkeep around entrances and amenity areas, including litter removal, seasonal cleanup, and basic cleaning.
· Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests and communicate status updates to the supervisor.
· Support and coordinate access for approved contractors or service vendors when directed.
· Follow all safety procedures for tools, ladders, lifting, equipment, and cleaning chemicals; immediately report hazards, damage, injuries, or unsafe conditions.
· Provide courteous assistance to members, guests, and staff while minimizing disruption to clubhouse activities.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Previous custodial, facilities, property maintenance, hospitality, or related experience preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
· Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, hand tools, and minor facility repairs.
· Ability to understand instructions, prioritize tasks, work independently, and ask for assistance when a task requires licensed or specialized service.
· Dependable attendance, attention to detail, sound judgment, and a service-oriented attitude.
· Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to use maintenance equipment and cleaning products safely after training.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
· Regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, crouch, kneel, and climb stairs during a shift.
· Ability to lift, carry or position equipment and materials weighing up to 50lbs.
· Move tables, chairs, boxes, equipment, and supplies using proper lifting techniques and available assistance.
· Use step stools or ladders and work with standard cleaning and maintenance equipment as authorized.
· Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
· Occasionally work around noise, dust, cleaning products, and active clubhouse events.
Schedule and Availability
This is a part-time, hourly position primarily scheduled for weekday evenings. The employee must also be flexible and available for occasional weekend shifts based on clubhouse events and operational needs. Additional hours may occasionally be available for special events or seasonal projects.
