Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
Manufacturing Maintenance Solutions (MMS) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support engineering, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, improving equipment reliability, and working closely with operations teams to drive performance and efficiency.
A Day in the Life
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll spend your day solving real-world manufacturing challenges. You may start by reviewing equipment performance data and troubleshooting reliability issues with maintenance teams. Throughout the day, you'll work on mechanical designs, update CAD drawings, support equipment upgrades, lead improvement projects, and collaborate with production, maintenance, and leadership teams to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

What You'll Do
- Design, evaluate, and improve mechanical systems and equipment
- Support manufacturing and maintenance teams with engineering expertise
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Lead continuous improvement and process optimization projects
- Develop and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new installations
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams
- Manage engineering projects, schedules, and deliverables
- Improve equipment reliability, performance, and maintainability
- Support prototype development, testing, and implementation activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3 years of Mechanical Engineering experience in manufacturing, industrial, or product development environments
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience leading engineering projects or mentoring junior engineers
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Knowledge of FMEA, DFMEA, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience with electromechanical systems and controls
Technical Skills
- 3D modeling and simulation software (SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, etc.)
- MATLAB or Python for engineering calculations and automation
- Project management software such as MS Project or Jira
- ERP systems such as SAP for BOM management and documentation control
- CAM software experience (Mastercam or similar) is a plus
