ClassLink is looking to hire an Agentic Engineer (IC2) . The Agentic Engineer designs, develops, tests, and maintains AI-enabled software solutions, intelligent automation, agentic workflows, and cloud-native applications supporting ClassLink’s products. Working across Product and Engineering teams, this role delivers secure, scalable, high-quality solutions while contributing to engineering standards, reusable components, technical documentation, and peer mentoring. Success requires strong software and AI engineering expertise, analytical problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset.


Key Responsibilities

AI-Enabled Engineering & Technical Excellence

  • Design, develop, and optimize AI-enabled applications, intelligent automation, and agentic workflows that deliver customer value.
  • Apply AI-assisted engineering practices, prompt engineering techniques, and modern software development methodologies to improve engineering effectiveness.
  • Ensure solutions comply with established standards for AI governance, security, testing, and software quality.

Accountability & Results

  • Own technical implementation for features and services from design through deployment.
  • Design scalable integrations between AI systems, enterprise platforms, APIs, and cloud-native services.
  • Resolve technical issues related to performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Improve engineering efficiency through automation, workflow optimization, testing improvements, and AI-enabled development practices.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, reusable components, and engineering standards.
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and recommend improvements that benefit the engineering organization.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, Infrastructure, QA, and DevEx to deliver successful product outcomes.
  • Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering working groups.
  • Share technical knowledge and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture through code reviews, design discussions, and peer support.

This role is 100% remote eligible, with quarterly strategy meetings that are in-person.

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in software engineering, application development, or AI-enabled solution development.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying scalable software applications using Agile development methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform), RESTful APIs, and distributed application architectures.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools, prompt engineering techniques, and modern software engineering practices.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability tools.
  • Understanding of secure software development practices, application security, AI governance, and software quality standards.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience working on cross-functional Agile teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience developing AI-enabled applications, intelligent automation solutions, or agentic workflows in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), AI orchestration frameworks, vector databases, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures.
  • Experience with containerization technologies, Kubernetes, serverless computing, or cloud-native application design.
  • Exposure to infrastructure as code, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering practices.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical initiatives within Agile teams.
  • Knowledge of software architecture patterns, performance optimization, and scalable distributed systems.
  • Cloud platform certifications or AI-related certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure AI Engineer, AWS Certified AI Practitioner, or equivalent).
