Join our team at Learning Opportunities Quality Works! We are currently seeking applicants for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) position. This is a part-time position with approximately 20–30 hours per week.

Work Schedule

This role is primarily daytime hours with flexibility to cover shifts between 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM based on client needs. A schedule will normally be provided in advance, with occasional late coverage on assigned days.


Essential Functions:

As a DSP you will play an essential role in supporting individuals with IDD as they build greater independence, develop employment skills, and participate meaningfully in their communities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide individualized job coaching and on-the-job support to individuals as they perform their job duties in a variety of work environments.
  • Assist individuals in developing, strengthening, and maintaining the skills needed to obtain and sustain successful employment.
  • Encourage independence by gradually reducing support as individuals gain confidence and competence in their job responsibilities.
  • Promote positive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and other community members while supporting successful workplace integration.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required with work experience, prefer 4 year degree from accredited college.
  • Must have a current valid driver's license and be willing to obtain a Class E (Chauffeur's) license immediately upon hire.
  • Requires a dependable personal vehicle with valid insurance coverage. 
  • Ability to pass all appropriate and required background screenings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate the needs of our customers.
  • Ability to use technology to complete required documentation.
  • A caring and patient individual with a passion for helping others.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team.
