POSITION QUALIFICATOINS:


The foundation of this position is to serve the customers of the Bank. This position requires strong customer service skills and aptitude along with the desire to serve our customers needs in an outstanding fashion. This position requires strong math skills and the logical application of these skills. An aptitude for cross selling our products is a component of this position.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Part-Time Teller’s work schedule is not fixed and may vary dependent on need
  • The Part-time teller will also be expected to work in the branch Saturday rotation.
  • The Part-Time Teller will perform teller and general retail banking responsibilities, processing a variety of customer transactions in accordance with the Bank’s procedures.
  • Typically, the Part-time Teller schedule is determined ahead of time. Additional hours may be offered to part-time teller occasionally based on branch staffing. 

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for comprehensive,  prompt, and efficient customer transactions.
  • Receives/processes checks and cash for deposits/payment to all types of deposit and loan accounts;      verifies amounts, verifies amount due, examines checks for proper endorsement.
  • Cashes checks/performs withdrawals for customers upon proper verification. Redeems savings bonds.
  • Balances cash drawer at end of day and compares totals with computer totals.
  • Scan checks and savings bonds.
  • Assist branch staff in end of night duties.
  • Ensure teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
  • Advise customers on status of accounts and answers questions.
  • Answer telephone and written inquiries concerning savings, certificates and checking accounts and provides other      account information.
  • Cross-sells Bank products and services
  • Completion of all mandatory training

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:

Education:  

High School Diploma or GED


Experience:

Experience handling cash is desirable


Skills:

Good math skills.

Good interpersonal communication skills

Good computer skills and ability to operate standard office equipment (i.e. calculator)

Aptitude for use of Bank’s Teller programs (Insight)
