REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF AGRONOMY | SUPERINTENDENT | ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general golf course maintenance duties under the direction of Golf Course management.
- Mow turf areas including rough, fairways, tees, and practice areas using hand and riding equipment, as assigned.
- Rake bunkers and maintain bunker edges and appearance.
- Participate in golf course set-up activities, including placing tee markers, ropes, stakes, signage, and assisting with cup changes.
- Repair divots, fill divots with sand/seed mixture, and assist with turf recovery efforts.
- Perform string trimming, edging, blowing, debris removal, and general landscape maintenance.
- Assist with sod replacement, seeding, mulching, planting, and landscape improvement projects.
- Hand-water turf, plants, and landscaped areas as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, tools, and assigned equipment.
- Operate entry-level golf course maintenance equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Follow all department safety standards, operating procedures, and equipment guidelines.
- Ensure end-of-day tasks and closing procedures are completed in accordance with department SOPs.
- Report unsafe conditions, irrigation leaks, equipment concerns, or maintenance issues immediately to management.
- Provide a high level of professionalism and maintain a positive working relationship with team members and Club members.
- Ability to safely perform entry-level golf course maintenance duties under supervision.
- Ability to operate basic golf course maintenance tools and equipment after training.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and wind.
- Ability to maintain punctuality and dependable attendance.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and carry equipment and materials.
- Ability to work early morning, weekends, holidays, overtime, and varied schedules as business needs require.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and proper equipment use.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior golf course, landscaping, groundskeeping, agriculture, or outdoor maintenance experience preferred but not required.
- Yearly training requirements as demanded by the county, state, and federal regulations.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Relevant training certifications in industry topics helpful.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Criminal and civil background clearance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods as required throughout the workday.
- Ability to walk and work on uneven outdoor terrain, including golf course and landscaped areas.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, kneel, squat, and occasionally crawl while performing maintenance duties.
- Ability to climb and maintain balance when using steps, ladders, slopes, ramps, or similar surfaces.
- Ability to reach overhead, below the waist, forward, and from side to side.
- Ability to push, pull, grip, and handle tools, equipment, and materials throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand, finger, foot, ankle, neck, and shoulder movements as required by the position.
- Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, supplies, and materials required for golf course maintenance.
- Must have sufficient near and distance vision to safely operate equipment, identify hazards, and perform detailed work.
- Ability to work around machinery and loud equipment and tolerate varying levels of workplace noise.
- Must be able to safely perform the physical duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds, with assistance and/or proper equipment when needed.
