Description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for leading full-cycle recruiting activities to identify, attract, screen, interview, and support the hiring of qualified candidates for the company’s open positions. This role partners closely with hiring managers and HR team to support hiring needs across the organization, including manufacturing, production, technical, professional, and administrative roles.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle recruiting for all levels at both company locations, including hourly production, skilled trades, maintenance, engineering, quality, supply chain, supervisory, professional, and administrative positions.
  • Manage the daily operations of the HRIS ATS (Paylocity) to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant movement of applicants through the recruiting workflow.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, review job requirements, develop screening criteria, create job postings, and define candidate qualifications for open positions.
  • Source and attract qualified and diverse candidates using Paylocity, Indeed, LinkedIn, social media, employee referrals, community partners, schools, staffing agencies, direct sourcing, and other effective search methods.
  • Build and maintain proactive talent pipelines for recurring, high-volume, and hard-to-fill manufacturing and technical positions.
  • Interview applicants to evaluate position requirements, work experience, technical skills, behavioral competencies, organizational fit, and team fit.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling, hiring manager feedback, candidate communication, offer preparation, offer acceptance follow-up, and onboarding handoff to HR and hiring managers.
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements, which may include background checks, employment verifications, drug screens, reference checks, and other hiring-related documentation.
  • Attend and coordinate participation in local job fairs, university recruitment events, technical school events, community workforce events, and other recruiting activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with recruiting agencies, universities, technical schools, community organizations, workforce development partners, and other organizations to find and attract talent.
  • Maintain accurate applicant records, recruiting documentation, interview notes, and disposition information in accordance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Track and report recruiting activity and metrics, including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, applicant flow, pipeline status, offer acceptance, and other measures as requested.
  • Ensure recruiting practices comply with applicable employment laws, EEO requirements, recordkeeping requirements, and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field from an accredited school is preferred. Equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Two (2) or more years of relevant full-cycle recruiting and sourcing experience is required.
  • Experience recruiting in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or similar environment is preferred.
  • Experience recruiting hourly production, skilled trades, maintenance, engineering, quality, supply chain, supervisory, or technical roles is preferred.
  • Experience with high-volume recruiting, hard-to-fill positions, or multi-site recruiting is preferred.
  • Experience using ATS/HRIS platforms, job boards, social media recruiting tools, and sourcing tools such as Paylocity, Indeed, and LinkedIn is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of all recruiting components, including sourcing, qualifying, networking, interviewing, and assessing candidate skills is required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills are required.
  • Strong consultative skills with hiring managers, supervisors, and plant leadership are required.
  • Ability to develop sourcing strategies for high-volume, recurring, and hard-to-fill positions is required.
  • Strong candidate assessment, behavioral interviewing, and candidate relationship management skills are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple requisitions, competing deadlines, and changing hiring priorities in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate recruiting records and documentation are required.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, EEO principles, applicant tracking practices, and recruiting compliance requirements is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and recruiting technologies, including ATS/HRIS systems, job boards, and professional networking platforms, is required.
  • Ability to use recruiting data and metrics to evaluate hiring activity, identify opportunities for improvement, and support recruiting decisions is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, AIRS, or other talent acquisition-related certification is preferred.

  • Occasional travel between company locations, schools, job fairs, community events, and recruiting-related appointments.
