Grain Facility Operator (Internally known as Bin Technician)

Location: Van Buren, IN
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Summer hours may shift to 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM due to heat.) 


Pay:

Starting pay of $21.00/hour

  • $0.50/hour raise after 90 days 
  • Additional $0.50/hour raise after 6 months

Every quality product begins with the corn we receive. As a Bin Technician, you will play an important role in receiving, storing, conditioning, and monitoring corn before it moves into production.


This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, working outdoors, and operating equipment in a fast-paced environment.


What You'll Do:

As a Bin Technician, you will:

  • Operate and maintain grain drying and storage equipment. 
  • Monitor corn temperature, moisture levels, airflow, and overall quality. 
  • Collect, prepare, and test corn samples. 
  • Clean and prepare grain bins between fills. 
  • Assist with unloading incoming corn deliveries. 
  • Verify inventory levels and ensure corn is placed in the correct bins. 
  • Support bin inspections, cleanouts, and preventive maintenance activities. 
  • Probe grain bins and enter quality and inventory information into AS400. 
  • Safely operate tractors, augers, semi-trucks, and other company equipment. 
  • Contribute to improvements in safety, quality, and operational efficiency. 
  • Provide additional support to the grain operations team as needed.

Harvest Season:

Harvest typically begins in September and may extend into the following year, depending on weather and operational needs. 


During the six- to eight-week harvest period, grain receiving operations may run for up to 12 hours per day, including weekends. Additional overtime may be required.

Requirements

Qualifications: 

Required:

  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English to perform job duties effectively and safely.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 80 feet
  • Flexible schedule to support operational needs, including weekends or extended shifts
  • Drive a semi-truck 
  • Drive farm related equipment

Preferred:

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Experience with grain handling or agricultural equipment
  • Basic understanding of product conditioning and storage environments
