Description
Crowne Plaza North Augusta is seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Housekeeper to lead our Housekeeping and Laundry team. We are looking for a hands-on leader with a strong eye for detail, a commitment to exceptional guestroom cleanliness, and the ability to develop and motivate a high-performing team. This role will oversee daily Housekeeping operations, room inspections, staffing and scheduling, labor productivity, inventory, training, and quality standards while partnering with hotel leadership to create an exceptional guest experience.
- Lead, supervise, train, coach, and develop housekeeping and laundry associates.
- Manage employee performance, including counseling, evaluations, corrective action, recognition, and development.
- Schedule employees according to forecasted occupancy, business demand, productivity standards, and established labor goals.
- Conduct routine inspections of guestrooms, public areas, laundry areas, storage spaces, restrooms, and other assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently achieved.
- Maintain room quality in accordance with StepStone Hospitality, Crowne Plaza, and IHG standards.
- Monitor room readiness and partner closely with Front Office to ensure clean rooms are released efficiently for arriving guests.
- Identify cleanliness, maintenance, or safety deficiencies and ensure timely corrective action and follow-up.
- Develop and maintain departmental training standards to ensure associates understand proper cleaning procedures, safety requirements, quality expectations, and guest-service standards.
- Respond to guest concerns related to Housekeeping and ensure appropriate service recovery and follow-up.
- Assist with preparation of the annual departmental budget and monitor performance against budget.
- Monitor Housekeeping productivity, labor costs, overtime, supply usage, linen costs, and cost-per-occupied-room performance.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels for linen, guest supplies, cleaning products, equipment, and other departmental materials.
- Conduct required inventories and ensure supplies are ordered, received, stored, and controlled appropriately.
- Maintain and enforce procedures related to guest lost-and-found items.
- Protect hotel equipment and ensure appropriate controls for items issued or loaned to employees.
- Coordinate with Engineering regarding maintenance issues identified during room and public-area inspections.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety requirements, OSHA regulations, chemical/SDS procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Attend required leadership and operational meetings and communicate relevant information to the housekeeping team.
- Immediately communicate emergencies, safety concerns, operational disruptions, and significant guest issues to hotel leadership.
- Promote teamwork and maintain effective working relationships with other hotel departments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on hotel and operational needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of progressive hotel Housekeeping experience, with prior supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in a full-service, branded hotel environment preferred.
- IHG or Crowne Plaza experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of hotel Housekeeping operations, room inspections, linen management, inventory control, scheduling, and labor productivity.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and hold employees accountable for performance and quality.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret occupancy forecasts and adjust staffing levels according to business demand.
- Strong understanding of departmental budgets, labor management, purchasing, and cost controls.
- Proficiency with computers and hotel/office systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, employees, vendors, and hotel leadership.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on hotel needs, including weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings when required.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond appropriately to changing operational demands.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Additional language proficiency is a plus.
