GENERAL OVERVIEW
The Quality Assurance Lead bears primary responsibility for the overall quality of Metrc’s products and services and must ensure those products and services adhere to industry and the organization’s standards. They are responsible for designing and implementing testing protocols and approaches and training the QA Analysts on their team on testing practices and processes. They are also involved in developing testing plans, creating risk mitigation strategies, and liaising with the Product & Development team to identify and implement process improvements. They play a key role in determining the readiness of a product release to go to other environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- · Mentor and provide guidance to QA team members.
- · Develop a thorough understanding of how our products work.
- · Provide input to the Product and Development teams from the perspective of the QA team.
- · Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally.
- · Develop and ensure test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures are completed and execute those as needed.
- · Review the work of QA Analysts to ensure comprehensive coverage and quality planning and execution.
- · Track the QA team’s progress with testing and provide status reporting to management as needed.
- · Establish standards and metrics for assessing the readiness of a feature or build and apply them to determine the readiness of a product release for environments.
- · Research QA best practices and assess the feasibility and value of implementing them at Metrc.
- · Develop new tools that will make executing and documenting test cases more efficiently and consistently.
- · Develop processes to increase testing coverage and efficiency, including processes for automating testing.
- · Clearly communicate with team members and internal business associates.
- · Any other task or duty as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- · BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject strongly preferred.
- · Excellent knowledge of software QA methodology, process and tools in web testing environment
- · 3+ years of relevant software testing and software quality assurance experience, including 1+ years leading a team of QA Analysts
- · Passionate about ensuring that releases are of high quality
- · “Continuous improvement” mindset – identify gaps in process or approach and identify and implement changes to resolve them
- · Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
- · Experience working in an Agile or Waterfall software development process
