OVERVIEW
The Café Person is responsible for the preparation of food served, serving and bussing, and cashiering in the WAC Café. This position provides Members and Guests with quality service and contributes to the smooth operations of the Food and Beverage Department.
SCHEDULE
Expected schedule includes Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Flexibility to work additional shifts as needed is preferred.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Gather food items from kitchen and transport them to the WAC Café
· Prepare food for display and purchase, assuring freshness and quality in presentation. Handle special requests from members
· Act as a cashier for the WAC Cafe, receiving money, making change, recording and tallying sales and counting till
· Maintain a clean and tidy café, clearing tables and cleaning the areas as needed
· Restock supplies such as napkins, condiments, paper products and provide Manager list of items to be ordered
· Maintain familiarity of WAC events and local activities
· Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
· A minimum of one (1) year experience deli preparations and cashiering
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Washington State Food Handler’s Permit
· Class 12 or 13 MAST (Mandatory Alcohol Server Training) permit
· Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset
PAY INFORMATION
· Pay: $22.95/hour plus tips for the first 90 days of employment, per the CBA. After 90 days, the rate of pay increases to $25.50/hour plus tips
