We are looking for an experienced Sewer Excavation Technician who takes pride in quality work and wants to build a long-term career with a company that values responsibility, motivation, and professional growth.
In this hands-on role, every day brings a different underground drain or sewer project. You may excavate and repair a damaged sewer line, install a cleanout, complete a sewer lining project, or cut and restore concrete to access and replace underground piping.
Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate an excavator and other equipment used for underground sewer and drain work
- Excavate, expose, repair, replace, and backfill residential sewer and underground drain lines
- Install sewer liners and complete trenchless pipe-rehabilitation work
- Install exterior cleanouts and complete other underground drainage projects
- Cut, remove, and restore concrete to access and repair underground piping
- Safely drive a company vehicle while towing an equipment trailer
- Read job scopes, identify required materials and equipment, and prepare the worksite
- Follow plumbing codes, excavation-safety practices, and company procedures
- Keep equipment, vehicles, trailers, tools, and jobsites clean, organized, and well maintained
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members and help deliver a 5-star experience
- Other duties as assigned
Pay and Benefits
- Pay: $62,400–$104,000 annually based on experience (overtime eligible)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, with Saturdays required based on business needs

- Previous sewer excavation, underground utility, drain, or pipe-replacement experience strongly preferred
- Experience with sewer lining is strongly preferred
- Comfortable and experienced operating an excavator
- Able to safely drive while towing an equipment trailer
- Illinois plumbing license preferred but not required
- CDL preferred but not required
- Self-driven, responsible, hardworking, and motivated
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Able to lift, carry, and move 50 pounds or more on an occasional basis, in compliance with OSHA manual-handling guidelines
- Regularly able to perform physically demanding work outdoors and in varying weather conditions, including standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, squatting, bending, and working in and around excavations
- Comfortable working around construction equipment, underground utilities, dust, dirt, noise, and confined work areas
