Job Purpose

The M&A Analyst will play a key role in executing acquisition opportunities as the company continues to grow its national footprint of emergency medicine practices. This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership, private equity sponsors, and external advisors, and is well-suited to a candidate looking to build deep expertise in healthcare services M&A.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate potential acquisitions of emergency medicine and related healthcare services practices.
  • Support due diligence workstreams, coordinating with legal, clinical operations, finance, and compliance teams, as well as outside advisors (investment banks, accounting firms, legal counsel).
  • Prepare investment memoranda, board presentations, and materials for the private equity sponsor's investment committee.
  • Assist in sourcing and screening acquisition targets, including market mapping and physician group research.
  • Analyze target company financials, including normalization of EBITDA, working capital, and quality-of-earnings considerations specific to physician practice management.
  • Maintain the M&A pipeline, deal tracker, and related reporting for internal and sponsor updates.
  • Conduct industry and competitive research on emergency medicine, urgent care, and adjacent healthcare services segments.
Requirements

  

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1–4      years of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate development, or private equity; healthcare services experience strongly preferred. 
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; PowerPoint proficiency for presentation development.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with healthcare services regulatory and reimbursement considerations (e.g., physician practice management structures, payer mix) is a plus but not required.
