Heavy Equipment Operator — Keep the Sand Moving
Description

Frac Sand Mining & Processing | Rotating Shifts

Excavators • Skid Steers • Track Hoes • Earn $25 - $32 / Hour • Monthly Production Bonus

Sand doesn't move itself. Every load you place, every stockpile you build, every bucket you swing sets the pace for the whole plant — and when you're good at it, everybody downstream feels it. We're looking for an operator who can climb in the cab, read the jobsite, and keep material flowing without waiting to be told twice.

You'll run excavators, skid steers, and track hoes across the yard, move material to designated stockpiles with accuracy, adapt as the day changes, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with plant leadership to keep the site organized, productive, and safe. Minimal supervision, real ownership.

What You'll Do

  • Run excavators of every size — loading, material handling, transport — smoothly and safely.
  • Build and feed stockpiles accurately so the plant never waits on material.
  • Operate skid steers with precision across whatever the day throws at you.
  • Handle track hoes of all sizes and match the machine to the job.
  • Inspect and maintain your equipment so it's ready for the next shift, not just this one.
  • Follow every safety guideline and site protocol — for you and for the crew around you.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while keeping productivity and communication high.

Your Schedule

Continuous plant operations means flexibility matters.

  • Rotating shifts – 4 on 4 off
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

What's In It For You

  • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid vacation and company holidays
  • Monthly production bonus eligibility
  • PPE reimbursement, including approved safety boots and protective gear
  • Real career growth with a fast-expanding company

Requirements

 What You Bring

  • Proven time as an Equipment Operator, especially on excavators of various sizes.
  • Experience with skid steers, track hoes, and heavy equipment in mining, processing, construction, or heavy industrial work.
  • Working knowledge of occupational safety practices — and the discipline to follow them every time.
  • Clear communication and the ability to work well on a crew.
  • Self-direction: you stay productive without someone standing over your shoulder.
  • Flexibility across tasks, machines, and conditions.
  • Frac sand mining or bulk material handling experience is a plus, not a requirement.

The Physical Side

  • Lifting and carrying heavy equipment, tools, and materials as needed.
  • Stamina and agility for full shifts in and around the cab.
  • Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces when required.
  • Standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift.
  • Indoor and outdoor work in all weather, with dust, noise, heat, and cold.
  • Regular use of required PPE — hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, respirator, and more.

Why Independence?

We're a growing frac sand operation that runs on people who take pride in doing the job right the first time. You'll have good iron to run, a crew that backs you up, and a safety culture that isn't just a poster in the breakroom.

Apply today — bring the skills, we'll keep the sand moving.
