Lube Technician – Heavy Equipment

Job Summary

We are looking for a dependable Lube Technician to join our equipment maintenance team. This position is responsible for performing routine lubrication, preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic service on heavy construction equipment and vehicles to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has experience working with heavy equipment in a construction, fleet, or equipment maintenance environment and is comfortable working outdoors and in the field.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine lubrication and greasing of heavy construction equipment. 
  • Service and maintain equipment according to manufacturer and company maintenance schedules. 
  • Perform oil and filter changes and other routine preventive maintenance. 
  • Inspect equipment for leaks, worn components, damaged hoses, fittings, belts, and other potential issues. 
  • Check and maintain fluid levels, including engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant, and fuel systems. 
  • Lubricate pins, bushings, joints, bearings, and other grease points. 
  • Perform basic equipment inspections and identify maintenance or repair needs. 
  • Communicate equipment problems to  the Equipment/Fleet Manager or mechanic. 
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records. 
  • Keep service trucks, tools, and work areas clean and organized. 
  • Assist mechanics with repairs and maintenance as needed. 
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. 
  • Travel to construction job sites as needed to service equipment in the field.

Requirements

  

  • Previous experience of lubricating or maintaining heavy construction equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of basic preventive maintenance practices. 
  • Ability to identify equipment  leaks, wear, and potential mechanical problems. 
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic,  lubrication, and fluid systems. 
  • Ability to use grease guns, hand tools, and basic shop/service equipment. 
  • Ability to work independently and follow a maintenance schedule. 
  • Valid driver's license required.  
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. 
  • Ability to safely lift, bend, climb, kneel, and work around large equipment.
