The Student Engagement Coordinator I will maintain the prospective student outreach process and collaborate in assisting students with all aspects of their educational journey from discovery, to understanding the processes of program application, financial aid, transfer acceptance, accreditation, etc. This position requires the ability to articulate the role and benefits of Portage Learning in their journey. 


What You’ll Invest In:


The Student Engagement Coordinator l will carry out these responsibilities:

  • Engagement with prospective students to promote enrollment at Portage Learning. 
  • Support the management of the student enrollment process and follow-up individually as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date student contact information.   
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • An associate or bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 0-3 years of professional experience in a school or an institution of higher education, or related field. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of processes and procedures commonly used in higher education; these include transfer of credit, financial aid, and program application/acceptance processes. 
  • Successful completion of a background check and current and/or ability to obtain the following clearances: Child Abuse, State Police, FBI Fingerprinting, and Mandated Reporter for Child Abuse.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent working knowledge of field of work.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, listening and public speaking) skills.
  • Must be service oriented with a focus on helping others.
  • Resolving conflicts and negotiating with others.
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities and achieve desired goals.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn software/new programs quickly.

This is full-time position. Portage Learning typically operates Mondays to Fridays, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Employee schedules may vary within those hours. All staff members must attend required meetings and training at the office in Chippewa Township, PA.

Travel:

The job requires travel, primarily local during the business day, which may entail one or more overnight stays. Travel on one or more days of a weekend may occur occasionally.

Salary Description
$40,800 – $56,100
