In this role, you’ll work directly with blood donors and help create a positive donation experience while supporting LifeSouth’s mission of providing a safe blood supply to the communities we serve.

What You'll Do:
- Provide a welcoming, positive experience for blood donors while helping support a lifesaving mission
- Perform phlebotomy and collect blood from donors in accordance with LifeSouth procedures and safety standards
- Conduct donor screenings, including interviews and physical assessments, to help determine eligibility
- Register donors and accurately document information throughout the donation process
- Learn to operate automated blood collection equipment and perform apheresis procedures once trained
- Ensure donors are accurately identified at every step of the donation process
- Educate donors about donation options and help identify opportunities for automated donations when appropriate
- Support donor recruitment and retention by encouraging future donations and assisting with rescheduling
- Work closely with your team to create a safe, efficient and positive donation experiencephlebotomies and collect blood from donors according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
What You'll Need:
- High school diploma or GED
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain LifeSouth’s driver eligibility requirements
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to make donors feel comfortable and cared for
- A team-oriented mindset and willingness to support coworkers in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accuracy while performing multiple responsibilities
- Ability to read, understand and follow written procedures and instructions
- Previous customer service experience is preferred
- CDL holders are preferred, with additional compensation available

LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. We are committed to meeting the blood supply needs of hospitals and their patients by providing the highest quality blood components and services. With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.

To provide a safe blood supply that meets or exceeds the needs in each community we serve, and to provide a variety of services in support of ongoing and emerging blood and transfusion related activities.
