About this role
The Data Entry Specialist will support the medical coding team by accurately entering, updating, and maintaining healthcare and patient-related data into the company’s systems. This role is essential in ensuring that medical records, billing information, and coding documentation are complete, accurate, and compliant with organizational and industry standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Enter patient information, medical records, and coding details into databases and electronic health record (EHR) systems with high accuracy.
• Review source documents (such as patient charts, medical coding outputs, billing files, or audit reports) to verify data completeness and accuracy.
• Collaborate with medical coders to clarify missing or inconsistent information.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive patient health information in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Update and correct data as needed to ensure records are up-to-date and error-free.
• Perform quality checks on entered data to support coding accuracy and proper claims submission.
• Generate routine reports and provide administrative support to the coding and billing team.
• Meet daily productivity targets and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Data Entry Specialist, preferably in healthcare, medical billing, or coding
• environment.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and coding processes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) is a plus.
• Proficiency in data entry software, EHR systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Strong typing skills with speed and accuracy.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data integrity
