Position: GIS Analyst
Work Location: Fort Drum, NY
Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000
Start Date: Contingent Upon Contract Award
NOTE: Must reside within 50 miles of Fort Drum, NY – Directorate of Public Works

Description: The GIS Analyst is responsible for updating and providing advanced geospatial analysis, performing data validation to ensure GIS records adhere to Army Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) and Army Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs), plan and perform data capture and update tasks, provide technical reports, develop and deliver customer training, and provide support of the enterprise geospatial maps. This position reports to the Team UBT CADD Engineer.
Duties include:
- Assists with managing the onsite geospatial services, ensuring tasks and deadlines are met.
- Assists with establishing goals and plans that meet project objectives.
- Provides technical operations for GIS performing detailed spatial and relational database analysis.
- Manages, updates, and creates geospatial data that strictly adheres to SDSFIE and Army geospatial quality assurance plans (QAPs).
- Plans, develops, and delivers advanced geospatial products for customer requests.
- Develops best practices to address customer needs for managing and updating geospatial data to meet specified requirements.
- Establishes schedules for updating digital, and web-based mapping capabilities.
- Provides input and recommendations to improve GIS data integrity and data relationships between GIS and other business data.
- Provides support for managing the geospatial web interfaces, and other geospatial applications.
- Provides advanced SQL queries, utilizing ArcGIS database tools for analysis and data extraction.
- Develops custom maps, and analysis for customers.
- Assists in the development of job aids and SOPs to support continued GIS services.
Proficiency: Must be able to perform and demonstrate experience using ArcGIS Pro and advance analysis tools. Candidates must have:
- Experience managing geospatial databases and geospatial web map services
- Proficiency using ArcGIS Pro, Arc SDE, Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Experience Builder
- Experience providing advanced SQL queries, using ArcGIS database tools
- Knowledge of Army real property policies and regulations, GFEBS, and HQIIS
- Experience providing technical support for detailed spatial and relational database analysis
- Experience conforming to SDSFIE and Army geospatial quality assurance plans
- Ability to provide support for geospatial web interfaces, and other geospatial applications
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of ePRISMS, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and AutoCAD is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing geospatial databases and development of GIS tools in ArcPro.
- 3 years’ experience providing geospatial data analysis, updates using ArcGIS products.
- Must be familiar with SDSFIE data model or similar geospatial data standards.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
