Position: CADD Engineer (Alt Project Manager) 

Work Location: Fort Drum, NY  

Salary Range: $82,000  - $87,000 

Start Date: Contingent Upon Contract Award

Description: The CADD Engineer will provide full-time, onsite project support to Fort Drum Directorate of Public Works (DPW). The position will be responsible for updating floor plans and as-builts, conducting facility inspections to facilitate drawing updates as needed, and managing the ePRISMS services. The position will ensure data accuracy of building drawings through Autodesk AutoCAD and Bentley MicroStation and manage them in ePRISMS. Responsibilities also include assisting government engineers with CADD projects, providing training, and developing job aids. The position will provide customer service related to analysis, drawing requests, and ePRISMS support. This position will also serve as the Team UBT Onsite Alternate Project Manager. This position reports directly to the Team UBT Project Manager. The onsite CADD ENGINEER will be authorized to act on behalf of Team UBT on matters pertaining to the contract support services in the absence of the onsite PM. 


Duties include:   

  • Organize and maintain CADD data integrity and security in accordance with Army regulations and engineering data standards. 
  • Provide CADD file floor plan developments and edits in MicroStation and integrate drawings into ePRISMS.  
  • Extract facility data from DWG, RVT, DGN, TIF PDF, etc. file formats in the development of pre-survey floor plans. 
  • Prepare layout and perform drafting tasks from simple instructions, demonstrating a broad knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation for engineering projects. 
  • Ensure that all drawing files and floor plan submittals, whether for the ePRISMS enterprise or sources, are geospatially referenced. 
  • Redraw old designs to new software and new drafting standards. 
  • Compile, manipulate, markup, and update drawing files from a variety of sources, including existing floor plans, site plans, as-builts, field observation, and PDF drawings. 
  • Perform regular quality control checks of CADD data and non-spatial databases with minimal supervision to ensure data integrity by conducting facility surveys, including drawing submittals input to ePRISMS. 
  • Produce detailed, high-quality cartographic products (digital and hardcopy) and accompanying reports in accordance with technical guidelines and client needs.  
  • Provide assistance with training ePRISMS users on utilizing CADD data and accessing drawings in ePRISMS.  
  • Facilitate the generation of reports and graphical representations of data in response to customer projects. 
  • Provide ongoing sustaining support and consulting as needed and as requested by the customer, and the Areli GIS Director. 
  • Perform all Project Manager duties as necessary in absence of Team UBT Project Manager for team personnel task execution, performance, and communication with Fort Drum DPW leadership and staff. 

Proficiency: Must be able to perform and demonstrate experience using ePRISMS and CADD (AutoCAD/MicroStation) products for updating, analyzing, and managing CADD drawings in support of ePRISMS. Candidates must have: 

  • AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting skills. 
  • Experience updating and maintaining CADD drawings in ePRISMS. 
  • Experience using Bentley MicroStation CADD drawing edits and maintaining standards. 
  • Experience updating floor plans from field inspections. 
  • Knowledge of engineering measurements, scales, calculations, and estimates. 
  • Knowledge of building space utilization and data management. 
  • Proficiency in engineering design principles and construction methods. 
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, or architectural aspects of AutoCAD design. 
  • Ability to perform routine data collection tasks associated with capturing or updating CADD data. 
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Experience in producing high-quality digital and hardcopy maps and project graphics. 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  
Requirements
  • BS/BA Degree or Relevant Experience (4 years may substitute for degree). 
  • Five years of experience in computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) with MicroStation and ePRISMS. 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
