POSITION SUMMARY:
The Commercial Loan Funder is responsible for the accurate and timely funding of commercial loans while ensuring compliance with internal policies and internal documentation. This position serves as a quality control checkpoint before funds are disbursed, requiring a high degree of accuracy, independent judgment, and knowledge of commercial lending practices. The Commercial Loan Funder works closely with Commercial Loan Officers, Loan Closers, Title Companies, Attorneys, and Borrowers to facilitate successful loan closings, while supporting the mission and core values of Texas Methodist Foundation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review commercial loan files to ensure all approval conditions have been satisfied prior to funding.
• Validate funding instructions and ensure funds are disbursed in accordance with approved closing statements and customer authorizations.
• Coordinate funding with internal departments, attorneys, title companies, escrow agents and borrowers.
• Perform post-closing duties and monitor collateral exceptions.
• Ensure all documentation complies with internal policies and internal audit standards.
• Process wire transfers, ACH transactions, checks, and internal account disbursements and construction advances while adhering to internal security procedures.
• Prepare and process construction related documents required during the draw process.
• Process payments.
• Balance funding transactions and reconcile disbursements to approved loan amounts.
• Identify documentation deficiencies or funding exceptions and work with appropriate parties to resolve issues before funding.
• Maintain complete and accurate loan records within loan servicing and imaging systems.
• Assist with internal audits and reviews by providing requested documentation.
• Recommend process improvements that increase operational efficiency while reducing risk.
• Cross train with Commercial Loan Closers and other Loan Operations staff to ensure business continuity.
• Prepare loan-related documentation including letters, reports, amortization schedules, and agreements.
• Prepare payoff quotes, process paid loan files, and coordinate lien releases.
• Enter, update, and maintain accurate loan data in systems and tracking tools.
• Image and file loan documentation electronically in accordance with records management standards.
• Serve as a Notary Public for the State of Texas as required.
• Complete all required training, including compliance and IT security training.
• Back-up for Loan Administrative Assistant
• Perform additional administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and loan processing systems (e.g., Salesforce, DocuSign, or similar platforms).

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND LICENSES:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Notary Public commission (or ability to obtain) preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years of experience in banking, lending, or administrative support required.
- Loan processing or servicing experience preferred.

- Ability to pass a background check
- Valid driver’s license and related insurance (if required)
