What You'll Do

As an Electrical Engineer V, you'll operate as a principal-level technical leader, setting the electrical engineering strategy across OKSI's hardware portfolio and shaping how the company approaches next-generation electronics for defense and environmental science platforms.

  • Set electrical engineering strategy and technical standards across the full hardware portfolio, spanning mixed-signal PCBs, embedded controllers, and custom sensor systems
  • Identify and drive adoption of new technologies, tools, and design approaches that improve OKSI's speed, reliability, and competitiveness
  • Serve as the senior-most technical authority in design reviews, program risk assessments, and customer engagements, including proposal and capture support
  • Guide architecture decisions for embedded processors, FPGAs, sensors, and power subsystems across the product line, in close partnership with software and systems leadership
  • Own the technical growth of the electrical engineering team; mentor EE III and IV engineers and help shape hiring and leveling decisions
  • Lead resolution of the most complex, cross-program hardware issues, including field failures with significant program impact
  • Represent OKSI's electrical engineering capabilities to customers, partners, and manufacturing vendors at a strategic level; guide long-term lifecycle and technology roadmap planning
Requirements

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, plus 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Extensive track record leading complex electrical systems from concept through fielded deployment, ideally across multiple programs or product lines
  • Expert-level knowledge of low-power design, sensor integration, and signal conditioning
  • Deep familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461, IPC-610, ISO, ITAR/EAR)
  • Demonstrated ability to set technical direction and influence outcomes across engineering, program management, and customer stakeholders
  • Recognized expertise in lab testing, debugging, and root cause analysis
  • Outstanding communication skills, with experience mentoring senior engineers and engaging directly with customers and leadership

Nice to Have

  • Background in automotive, EV, AV, aerospace, or space industries
  • Familiarity with guidance and navigation technologies, or inertial/magnetic sensors
  • Experience with optics and multispectral digital imaging systems
  • MIL-STD or DO-160 EMC design and test experience
  • Knowledge of programmable logic design, or signal/power integrity design
  • Experience transitioning products into full production and shipping at scale
  • Low-level firmware experience, particularly for bring-up and testing

Compensation and Benefits

  • $149,889 - $202,791 annually. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications and the budget allocated for this role.
