IT Field Technician
Full-time | Sandy, UT | Regular travel required
Larry H. Miller Senior Health is seeking an IT Field Technician to provide hands-on technology support across our facilities and business locations. This role is ideal for a service-oriented technician who enjoys solving problems onsite, supporting users, and keeping technology reliable across multiple locations.
Travel: Required 6 to 12 weeks per year, as needed, to support Larry H. Miller Senior Health facilities and project locations.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Travel to assigned facilities and project locations—approximately 6–12 weeks per year—to provide onsite support, complete deployments, perform maintenance, and resolve escalated Help Desk issues.
- Troubleshoot Windows computers, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, phones, tablets, kiosks, and other end-user devices.
- Install, configure, replace, image, and maintain workstations, shared devices, printers, conference-room equipment, and related technology.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Exchange Online.
- Assist with onboarding, offboarding, password resets, user access, licensing, and workstation readiness across approved identity and endpoint-management systems.
- Troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity, VPN, DHCP, DNS, firewalls, WAN/SD-WAN, and related network equipment; escalate vendor-level issues when needed.
- Support facility technology such as nurse call systems, digital signage, televisions, surveillance systems, paging, faxing, and voice platforms within the assigned scope.
- Maintain accurate tickets, asset records, network-closet documentation, equipment information, and follow-up actions in Freshservice or similar systems.
- Coordinate with facility staff, internal IT teams, contractors, and vendors, while identifying recurring issues and recommending practical improvements.
- Provide calm, professional support in active healthcare environments and reinforce privacy, security, and proper equipment-use standards.
Success in this role
You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, take ownership of assigned work, document accurately, and provide respectful, practical service to facility staff and internal partners.
- Three or more years of experience in field support, desktop support, Help Desk, systems administration, infrastructure support, or a similar technical role; multi-site experience is preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows 10/11, endpoint hardware, printers, mobile devices, and common business technology.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, switching, patching, VPN, firewalls, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Okta, Intune, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Experience with ticketing or asset-management systems; Freshservice experience is a plus.
- Basic PowerShell or automation knowledge is helpful.
- Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel regularly to assigned facilities.
Physical and work expectations
- Lift and transport equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Work safely under desks, in network or telecom spaces, and around active facility equipment.
- Spend extended periods driving, standing, walking, and working at a computer.
- Maintain dependable attendance, manage competing priorities, and remain composed during high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
