GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Food Service Worker will be responsible for providing food service and support to the Stuckey’s Café in the John Parolo Education Center. This position will assist in food preparation, daily opening and closing tasks, and ensuring the café and sitting areas are clean and presentable. The Food Service Worker will assist Manager in providing a high-quality experience to CHC/SEK employees and visitors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assist in preparing meals, snacks, beverages, and planning menus, including special events such as catering logistics for internal and external events, in coordination with the Food Service Manager and following specific procedures.
- Provides excellent customer service. Be responsive to customer issues/complaints and timely reporting of concerns to Food Service Manager.
- Assist in maintaining quality products and promotes positive interactions with established vendors.
- Ensure all work areas are clean and adhere to compliance with food health and safety regulations, including timely incident reporting.
- Assist in reducing waste, minimizing expenses, and maintaining equipment to keep in good working condition.
- Provide appropriate café coverage during high volume times and assist in training new and temporary café employees.
- Monitor event activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, satisfaction of participants and resolution of any problems that arise.
- Utilize Point of Sale service and food technology to organize and track inventory.
- Keeping accurate records of purchases and reconcile of cash drawer at the end of each shift.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Prior food service and event planning experience preferred.
- Must be CPR certified or become certified in 6 months from date of hire.
- Valid driver’s license is preferred.

- Must be organized and able to manage/prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, adapts to change in a positive manner, able to work as a part of a team.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Provide customer service in accordance to the organization’s mission.
- Ability to use point of sale system, including counting change back to customers.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and storage procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, stoop, and reach; use hands and fingers to operate kitchen equipment, cooking utensils, and cash register. Must be able to handle, feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to use sharp objects and be around hot surfaces. The employee may occasionally sit. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Computer work is minimal. Good lighting and comfortable temperature of ventilation at all times.
