As a Project Engineer, you will be part of the project team from day one, working alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, trade partners, architects, engineers, and clients while gaining hands-on experience across the full construction process.

This is an entry-level management role designed for someone who is curious, driven, collaborative, and ready to grow.

What You Will Do

As a Project Engineer, you will help keep projects moving forward by supporting both the field and project management teams. You will gain exposure to:

  • Project buyout, procurement, subcontracts, and purchase orders 
  • Submittals, RFIs, change orders, and document control 
  • Project schedules and material procurement 
  • Project cost control, subcontractor payments, and owner billing 
  • QA/QC, safety, inspections, and code compliance 
  • Coordination with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors 
  • OAC, subcontractor, staff, and safety meetings 
  • Project closeout, as-builts, warranties, O&M manuals, and training 
  • Field coordination and opportunities to step into superintendent responsibilities 
  • Construction technology and project management systems 

You will not simply observe the work. You will be expected to take ownership, ask questions, solve problems, communicate clearly, and contribute to the success of the project team.

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. 
  • 0–2 years of commercial construction experience; relevant internship or co-op experience strongly preferred. 
  • Basic understanding of construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with project teams, trade partners, designers, and clients. 
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments. 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and willingness to take initiative. 
  • Strong desire to learn and build a long-term career in commercial construction. 
  • Comfortable working in both jobsite and office environments and learning alongside field teams. 
  • Ability and willingness to travel or work at project locations throughout DFW
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction technology such as Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling, or document-management software is a plus.
