Warehouse-Yard Supervisor
Description

The Warehouse-Yard Supervisor is accountable for:

  • Assigning and overseeing daily operational work performed by the hourly operations staff
  • Assigning material receiving, order picking, and staging
  • Truck loading/unloading of customers will call orders and deliveries for the next day.
  • Yard and Warehouse organization and cleanliness
  • Working with the team to complete the daily duties

Schedule: Mon-Friday

Pay range: $26-$32 an hr DOE

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and assign daily operational activities to be completed.
  • Ensure all tasks are performed accurately with minimal mistakes.
  • Perform Yard Associate job duties on a regular basis.
  • Double-check work performed by hourly operations staff.
  • Label all materials upon receipt.
  • Photo document all loads before shipping to document materials on the truck for customer orders.
  • Build a working relationship with the delivery team to ensure there is always an open line of communication between the drivers and material handlers.
  • Stay current and uphold all operational and safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe facility.
  • Manage inventory accuracy, cycle count plan completion, and inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain inventory in prime condition and recommend actions to be taken for sub-prime or damaged inventory.
  • Oversee safety program and manage forklift operator certifications.
  • Ensure completion of daily forklift inspection reports for all forklifts.
  • Work with Operations Manager, Sales team, and Branch manager to ensure custom satisfaction and timely order fulfillment.
  • Communicate expectations and goals.
  • Provide strong leadership and create a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in warehouse operations lead or supervisory role.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse/yard/delivery operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, positive mental attitude, sense of urgency, and strong customer service orientation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Willingness and ability to pursue higher education and continuous improvement
  • Excellent Inventory Management skills
  • Proficient in ERP usage, MS Office Programs, and other internet-based programs
