Athena Medical Management, LLC., is seeking an HR Generalist to own core HR operations for our growing team of 160+ employees. This is a high-impact role responsible for ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance, and providing exceptional employee support.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love solving problems, and take pride in operational excellence, we want to talk to you. You’ll be the backbone of our HR function — keeping onboarding and offboarding running flawlessly, benefits questions answered quickly, delivering precise audit-ready payroll preparation, and keeping our Paylocity system clean and compliant. In return, you’ll have clear ownership, direct impact, and the ability to help shape how HR runs here.
What You’ll Do
• Own biweekly payroll for 160+ W-2 employees in Paylocity from start to finish. Accuracy is non-negotiable.
• Manage 1099 contractor payments across multiple schedules: standard biweekly, monthly, and off-cycle invoices.
• Administer our 401(k) plan, including contributions, loans, distributions, and audit support.
• Be the Paylocity expert — manage user access, org changes, employee updates, reporting, and troubleshoot login issues.
• Be the first line of support for employee benefits questions, open enrollment, and life event changes.
• Maintain compliance with I-9s, personnel files, 1099s, and federal/state requirements like FLSA, ACA, and ERISA.
• Help employees fast — you’ll be the go-to for questions on policies, pay stubs, W-2s/1099s, and system access.
• Execute full-cycle onboarding and offboarding. Initiate background checks, drug screens, and I-9/E-Verify; ensure Paylocity new hire packets are complete and accurate; coordinate orientation with hiring managers; conduct exit interviews, process terminations in Paylocity, and ensure timely distribution of COBRA and final pay in compliance with state regulations.
• Travel to WIS locations as needed- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to our 19+ centers across GA for onboarding, employee relations, investigations, and HR support
*Please note: This role will start as hybrid and will transition to fully on-site 5 days per week. Candidate must be able to work on-site in Cumming/Alpharetta, GA long-term.
What You Bring

• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to site locations across GA as needed.

• Paylocity experience strongly preferred. If you don’t have it, you must be a fast learner with other HRIS platforms.
• Experience with 1099s and 401(k) administration.
• Working knowledge of FLSA, ACA, and ERISA.
• You sweat the details. You catch errors before they become problems and take ownership of fixing them.
