San Diego-based General Contractor is seeking an experienced  Labor Foreman to join our growing team.

About the Position


The Labor Foreman is a hands-on field leader who helps keep commercial construction projects moving safely and efficiently. Working closely with the Superintendent, you’ll lead daily labor activities, organize jobsite logistics, and work alongside the crew to support project needs.
 

Some key responsibilities include:
• Lead and coordinate the daily work of labor crews based on project priorities and Superintendent direction.
• Assign work, communicate productivity and quality expectations, and adjust activities to support the project schedule.
• Work alongside the crew on site preparation, demolition, cleanup, temporary protection, barricades, material handling, and other general construction activities.
• Coordinate receiving, staging, moving, and organizing construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Monitor crew productivity and work quality and help ensure work follows project plans, specifications, and instructions.
• Reinforce jobsite safety requirements, PPE use, and safe tool and equipment practices; support daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Communicate manpower, material, equipment, productivity, quality, and safety needs to the Superintendent.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, trades, vendors, and other field personnel to support jobsite operations.
• Train and guide laborers on work practices, safety procedures, tools, equipment, and jobsite expectations.
• Maintain accurate timekeeping and communicate attendance, conduct, or performance concerns as needed.

About You

You’re an experienced construction professional who leads by example and is comfortable staying hands-on in the field. You can organize daily work, give clear direction, keep crews productive, and respond to changing jobsite needs while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
 

You communicate well with Superintendents, laborers, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams, and you know when to resolve an issue independently and when to escalate a higher-risk or unfamiliar situation.


• Typically requires at least 5 years of directly related commercial construction experience, including prior experience successfully leading construction labor crews, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong working knowledge of commercial construction jobsites, general construction practices, site logistics, hand and power tools, and safe work procedures.
• Ability to read and understand basic construction plans, site plans, specifications, and work instructions and translate them into clear daily work assignments.
• Strong crew leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize work, coordinate resources, and maintain productivity in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with laborers, Superintendents, project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and other field personnel. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• A valid California driver’s license with at least 3 years in good standing is required.

Reliable transportation may be required based on project assignment.

This position pays between $30.00  - $31.00 per hour. Depending on experience.
