Job Summary

The GAW Sub Leader operates the GAW area, leads day-to-day line execution, and steps in to cover other GAW positions as operational needs require. This role requires a solid working knowledge of all upstream GAW functions, Take Up, Pinning, and Material Handling but the core responsibilities of the position center in line operation and leadership.

Minimum Requirements

?  Minimum 1 year of experience in GAW line operations (Take Up, Pinning, or Material Handler roles)

?  Minimum 1 year with no corrective actions on file

?  Forklift certification

?  Strong communication, reliability, and teamwork skills

?  Demonstrated ability to identify and communicate quality issues

Key Responsibilities (Sub Leader)

?  Replenishes material for pinning operators (rolls)

?  Operates the GAW machine (start, stop, and continuous operation)

?  Controls kettle slack

?  Cleans the divider and furnace surface

?  Maintains degreaser, water, flux, charcoal, zinc, brightener, and chromate levels/quality

?  Keeps running lines properly aligned and directed

?  Maintains housekeeping in the kettle area

?  Covers for teammates as needed

?  Performs forklift checklist (pinning area) at the start of every shift

?  Knows how to perform rerun and 2OZ

?  Performs crane inspection at the start of every shift

?  Breaks rocks when drossing

?  Operates and maintains the lime feeder/bag house
