Description

Position Summary:

The Sales Manager is responsible for the Sales Department and fulfilling the company’s sales requirements.


Essential Functions:

  • Establish sales budget and operate sales cost center at a profit.
  • Lead the sales team to set and meet overall sales goals.
  • Build a strong team
  • Select and recruit the best
  • Establish clear expectations
  • Train – so salespeople have extensive knowledge of the products, customers and competition.
  • Coach – engage the prospect while the salesperson is receiving meaningful, valuable direction from the sales manager.
  • Give salespeople feedback and course correction along with yearly reviews
  • Develop measurable accountability
  • Sustain Momentum
  • Grow and expand the business
  • Constantly feed the team with new ways to get new customers and branch into new markets.
  • Contribute to and monitor prospecting activity to assure the seeds are being planted for future growth.
  • Account management of national chains, major accounts and a sales territory.
  • Manage trade shows
  • Work with CEO on promotions
  • Manage Goldmine database
  • Communicate company goals and expectations to all departments.
  • Maintain open communication with all departments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision, hearing, and communication skills needed to meet performance standard.
  • Bending, stooping, climbing, twisting, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, grasping, fine manipulation, close work, and manual dexterity needed for use in an office environment.
  • Experience and current ability to lift up to 10 lbs. on an infrequent basis.


Equipment Used:

Working knowledge of personal computers in a Network environment and associated software including MS Word, MS Excel, File Maker, PICK, Gold Mine, and Press Monkey. Experience with phone lines, fax and photocopier.


Work Environment:

  • May require overtime during peak periods or as business needs dictate.
  • Requires sitting for long lengths of time or standing for long lengths of time.
  • Requires ability to work with a computer up to 8 hours per day.
  • Positive motivation with willingness to help others be successful
  • Requires team-orientation, common sense and good judgment, professional behavior, effective communication (oral and written), and problem solving skills.

  • Requires ability to work in an environment that contains fumes, dust, odors, noise, chemicals, temperature variations, and varying levels of ventilation.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in Business Management or equivalent
  • Five years management experience
  • Possess effective communication skills
  • Experience with personal computers (spreadsheet, Word, E-mail) and other PC or server applications.
