HR and Recruiting Assistant

Job Purpose: 

Under the supervision of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Assistant will contribute to the Waterfall Community Health Center mission and strategic goals of the organization through intelligent, thoughtful, and collaborative implementation of HR practices.    

Duties: 

  • Adhere to the spirit of Waterfall Community Health Center to remove barriers to care and support our mission statement while performing assigned duties.  
  • Demonstrate the core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Compassion, Partnership and Collaborative Communication.   
  • Support internal HR related inquiries and requests.  
  • Act as a liaison between employees and management, addressing inquiries and collaborating with the HR Director to resolve issues as they arise.  
  • Assists in maintaining compliance with state, federal, and local employment laws and regulations; ensures all compliance posters at Waterfall locations are displayed and well-maintained. 
  • Maintains Human Resources System records, personnel files and policies, and Employee Handbook.  
  • Provide full cycle recruitment for a variety of positions to help the organization meet their mission by identifying candidates, preparing job postings, performing reference and/or background checks and scheduling/coordinating interviews. 
  • Provide clerical support to the HR Director, including managing calendars, organizing meetings, and preparing reports. 
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation. 
  • Ensures completion of all new hire paperwork and creation of personnel files. 
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information. 
  • Manage the recordkeeping for Paid Leave Oregon. 
  • Maintain certification and licensing records. 
  • Assists with completion of the termination paperwork process. 
  • Collaborates with payroll administrator to resolve inquiries and/or issues. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Education and/or Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Associate's degree in human resources or related field preferred and/or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 
  • Two years of Human Resources experience preferred. 
  • Understanding of labor law and employment equity regulations. 
  • Exposure to payroll practices. 
  • Works well under pressure with ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Computer literate and skilled with MS Office products especially Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint. 
  • Strong decision making, problem-solving and communication skills. 
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions. 
Requirements

 

Licensures/Certifications: 

  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Comprehensive training class completed within 6 months of hire and recertify prior to the expiration date. Waterfall will provide this training.  
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Card (BLS) within 6 months of hire, and recertify prior to expiration date. Employer provides this training. Waterfall will provide this training. 

Immunizations Required: 

  • TB (test upon hire)  

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk working at a computer. 
  • Able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally. 
  • Able to travel as needed.

$26.80 - $33.16
