General

The Community Clinic Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the community clinic functions, the clinic veterinary assistant and client services representative team members, and ensuring the effectiveness of departmental operations. They will work collaboratively to provide safe and humane care and to execute procedures, services, and treatments for all animals utilizing the community veterinary clinic. The Community Clinic Supervisor enforces state and local laws and regulations and maintains and implements cleaning protocols and proper sanitation to prevent the spread of disease. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide quality customer service while promoting Animal Friends Alliance’s mission, services, programs, and events to the public, including but not limited to clients, donors, volunteers, interns, and supporters 
• Cultivate positive relationships with clients, volunteers, interns, and co-workers through professional, courteous, and educational interactions 
• Carries out daily tasks, follows through on matters, and takes appropriate action to deal with occurring situations in order to ensure efficient clinic operations 
• Perform the duties of a Veterinarian Assistant and Client Service Representative as needed 
• Actively pursue disease control by continually upgrading sanitary procedures 
• Ensures organization protocols are followed 
• Upgrade protocols in all aspects of functionality when needed/appropriate
• Acts as the ”Manager on Duty” if the Community Clinic Manager is unavailable 
• Works closely with interns and helps facilitate training and support as needed 
• Assists with supply ordering and ensures appropriate levels of inventory are maintained 
• Ensures backstock supply areas are clean, maintained, and organized 
• Communicates with staff and interns to ensure smooth operations 

Other Duties:

• Assists the Community Clinic Manager with monthly cleaning/clinic upkeep, and maintenance 
• Assists the Spay/Neuter Clinic team when needed
• Work alongside the Spay/Neuter Clinic Supervisor and Manager when needed
• Assists the shelter team when needed 
• Attends quarterly departmental meetings 
• Helps organize emergency trainings as needed
• Ensures the quality of equipment through weekly checks

• Learns basic duties of other departments and supports other departments and staff. 
• Monitors, supports, motivates, and accredits volunteers and their work. 
• Understands and operates by Animal Friends Alliance’s core values. 
• Regular and timely presence onsite.

Unusual Demands

• Work is subject to frequent interruptions.

Education/Experience:

Education:

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent 
• Preferred: Two years of college or equivalent experience 

Experience:

• Required: 1 year working with animals in a professional or volunteer capacity 
• Preferred: 2 years working with animals in a professional or volunteer capacity, with 1 year of supervisory experience 

Miscellaneous:

• Valid Driver’s License: Required 
• Sincere interest in Animal Friends Alliance’s mission & vision 

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of animal breed, behavior, handling, and care 
• Basic technical procedures used in a veterinary hospital: Intravenous catheterization, subcutaneous injections, anesthesia and vaccination guidelines, and experience in veterinary and sheltering software.  
• Knowledge of Google Suite, including Gmail & Docs, and Sheets
