Mercedes-Benz of Tacoma is looking for an experienced Automotive Reconditioning Technician to join our high-volume pre-owned vehicle operation.

If you're tired of inconsistent workflow or waiting for your next RO, this is an opportunity to work in a busy reconditioning department with a steady vehicle pipeline, strong production opportunities, and the support of an established dealership team.

You'll work on Mercedes-Benz vehicles as well as a variety of pre-owned makes and models. Mercedes-Benz experience is not required. We're looking for a capable automotive technician who can diagnose, repair, and get vehicles front-line ready efficiently without sacrificing quality.

Compensation

$66,000–$150,000 annually

This is a flat-rate position. The posted compensation range is based on actual annualized earnings of current and former employees who have worked in this or comparable technician positions.

Individual earnings will vary based on experience, skill level, certifications, efficiency, hours flagged, available work, and other applicable compensation factors.

Additional incentive and bonus opportunities may be available based on qualifications, production, and applicable dealership programs.

For qualified technicians, a temporary hourly guarantee may be available during the first 90 days of employment to support the transition into the position.

What You'll Do

  • Inspect and recondition incoming pre-owned vehicles
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns
  • Perform maintenance and required reconditioning repairs
  • Complete safety and quality inspections
  • Identify needed repairs and accurately document findings
  • Prepare vehicles to meet dealership standards for front-line retail readiness
  • Work efficiently in a flat-rate, production-focused environment
  • Coordinate with parts and the reconditioning team to keep vehicles moving through the process
  • Safely operate dealership and customer vehicles
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Requirements

  

What We're Looking For

  • At least 1 year of automotive repair or service experience preferred
  • Dealership, independent repair, or high-volume reconditioning experience preferred
  • Flat-rate experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality standards
  • ASE certifications are a plus, but not required
  • Mercedes-Benz experience is a plus, but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Dependable and team-oriented
  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing
  • Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate dealership vehicles, as driving is an essential      function of the position
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

Technicians may be expected to provide their own basic hand tools appropriate for the position. Dealership specialty tools and diagnostic equipment are provided as applicable.
