Description
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the coordination of all QA/QI activities for all areas of the ASC. Reviews and updates the Quality Improvement Plan on an annual basis. Ensures that the ASC follows the directives in its Quality Improvement Plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs monthly and quarterly activities to ensure quality assurance in ASC is being maintained. Activities include chart review, outcome tracking, review and documentation of all incidents occurring within the ASC.
- Gathers data necessary to determine areas where improvement is needed.
- Performs quality improvement study on topic mutually agreed upon with ASC Director.
- Maintains responses from patients resulting from patient satisfaction surveys and from physicians and employees on an annual basis. Presents findings on a quarterly basis to MEC.
- Assists in the preparation of peer review information. Compiles results of peer review for physician discussions.
- Acts as a member of the safety committees and infection control committees of ASC.
- Actively participates in reviewing and reporting data to the MEC QA/QI Committee.
- Works directly with the ASC Risk Manager to ensure that a safe, progressive, clinical environment is provided in the delivery of patient care.
- Assist is review of federal and state regulations to ascertain if changes in ASC policies and procedures may be necessary. Makes recommendations for changes to policies and procedures to ASC Director to maintain compliance with regulations.
- Acts as a resource for ASC management team and staff on clinical and regulatory matters.
- Leads ASC in successful readiness and completion of AAAHC survey.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
- Must hold and maintain current RN license in the State of Florida.
- Must hold and maintain current CPR certification; ACLS and PALS preferred.

- Display customer services skills, strong interpersonal skills, close attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Medical Terminology and Anatomy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
- Knowledge of operating room process.
- Excellent telephone skills.
