Safety and Compliance Intern
Location: Portland, OR
Hours: 15-20 hours per week, (Flexible Schedule between 7am-10pm)

We are seeking a motivated Safety Intern to assist with day-to-day safety initiatives at our Portland, OR facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a college student pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Industrial Management, Engineering, or a related field who wants hands-on experience in a manufacturing and industrial environment.
The schedule is flexible and can accommodate classes. This role is ideal for a student looking to build practical safety experience while making a meaningful impact.
What You'll Do
- Conduct routine safety audits and facility inspections
- Assist with hazard identification and corrective action tracking
- Support incident investigations and near-miss reporting
- Perform safety observations on the shop floor
- Help update and organize safety documentation, records, and training logs
- Assist with PPE compliance and safety program implementation
- Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks
- Support ergonomic assessments and workplace improvement initiatives
- Help maintain OSHA-related documentation and compliance records
- Assist with safety training preparation and employee engagement activities
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, EHS, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable interacting with employees on the production floor
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Interest in workplace safety, compliance, and employee well-being
