Master Data Analyst
Description

The Master Data Analyst at DMC is responsible for maintaining accurate and reliable master data and supporting multi-state sales and use tax compliance through reconciliations, filings, and exemption certificate administration. As a member of the Accounting Department, this position analyzes data across the ERP, Avalara, and other business systems to identify inconsistencies, strengthen internal controls, and improve operational efficiency. The Master Data Analyst collaborates with departments across the organization to promote data integrity, support informed decision-making, and ensure established compliance processes are completed accurately and on time.


This position is a US based (Orlando, FL), work in-office role (8am-5pm Eastern time).


Essential Job Functions:

  • Extract, organize, and reconcile transactional data from the ERP, Avalara, and other business systems to strengthen data integrity, identify compliance risks, and support informed business decisions
  • Maintain approved customer, vendor, item, and related master data in ERP for payment terms, incoterms, tax codes, exemption status, and other tax and compliance related fields
  • Prepare and electronically file state and local sales and use tax returns using approved procedures, filing frequencies, and tax positions
  • Prepare tax payment requests, retain confirmations, and maintain the filing calendar and jurisdiction account records
  • Reconcile ERP tax activity, Avalara reports, filed returns, payments, and general ledger accounts; investigate and escalate unresolved variances
  • Collect and maintain exemption certificates in Avalara Exemption Certificate Management; track missing or expiring documents and update exemption status after approval
  • Support tax notices, registrations, and audits by gathering records, preparing schedules, and tracking responses under management direction
  • Update and maintain customer and vendor master data in Syteline
  • Prepare compliance and data-quality reports; maintain procedures, protect confidential information, meet deadlines, and provide backup support to accounting function


Requirements


Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, 
  • Two or more years of experience in ERP master data, sales tax compliance, accounting operations
  • Experience with Infor SyteLine and Avalara AvaTax, Returns, and Exemption Certificate Management strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, filters, and data reconciliations; strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and escalate exceptions
