This position supports microbiological, biological, research, and quality control testing activities while helping ensure testing is performed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established quality and regulatory requirements.


The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple testing activities and deadlines in a collaborative laboratory environment.


The level of Analyst I or Analyst II will be determined based on the candidate’s education, laboratory experience, technical knowledge, and demonstrated level of independence.

Summary

The Micro Quality Control (Q/C) & Biology Analyst I/II performs and coordinates microbiological, biological, research, and quality control testing activities in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Test Methods (TSMs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), USP requirements, and internal quality processes.


This position is responsible for organizing testing activities, monitoring schedules and deadlines, reviewing analytical results, maintaining laboratory readiness, supporting research activities, and communicating testing or quality issues to management and appropriate departments.


The Analyst will contribute to the effective planning and execution of laboratory activities while maintaining accurate records, reliable data, and compliance with established procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes, but not limited to:

· Perform, coordinate, and monitor microbiological, biological, research, and quality control testing activities.

· Develop and maintain testing schedules to ensure required testing is completed accurately and within established timelines.

· Review and adjust laboratory work schedules based on testing priorities, production requirements, project timelines, and available resources.

· Coordinate testing plans to ensure materials and samples are testing according to established schedules.

· Review testing results and associated documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established requirements.

· Track testing activities, production needs, and research projects to anticipate future laboratory scheduling and resource requirements.

· Plan and monitor the use of laboratory materials, supplies, equipment, and resources to support efficient testing operations.

· Gather, process, analyze, document, and communicate research and product testing data.

· Identify and communicate testing, quality, scheduling, equipment, or resource issues that may affect laboratory operations or project timelines.

· Work with management and cross-functional teams to resolve testing, quality, production, and scheduling issues.

· Manage assigned deadlines and priorities based on project and business requirements.

· Support the development, review, revision, and implementation of SOPs, test methods, laboratory procedures, and related documentation.

· Ensure GMP/GLP laboratory equipment calibration and qualification requirements are current.

· Assist in the acquisition, preparation, and/or production of research-related materials.

· Work with management to design and implement research procedures.

· Participate in microbiology, biology, research, and quality control testing activities.

· Analyze, interpret, and present research and testing data.

· Perform other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

Quality Control & Biology Analyst I is an early-career laboratory professional who performs testing and laboratory activities using established procedures and under appropriate supervision.


· Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or another related scientific discipline preferred.

· One (1) year of relevant laboratory experience preferred.

· Experience in microbiology, biology, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, research, academic, or other laboratory environments will be considered.

· Familiarity with GMP/GLP requirements and USP testing is a plus.

· Equivalent combinations of education and relevant laboratory experience will be considered.


Quality Control & Biology Analyst II is an experienced laboratory professional capable of performing assigned testing and laboratory activities with greater independence, technical judgment, and accountability.


· Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or another related scientific discipline preferred.

· Two (2) to four (4) years of progressively responsible laboratory experience preferred.

· Experience in a regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other FMP environment strongly preferred.

· Demonstrated experience performing microbiological, biological, or quality control testing.

· Working knowledge of USP testing requirements and applicable regulatory expectations preferred.

· Equivalent combinations of education and relevant laboratory experience will be considered.

· Working knowledge of GMP/GLP requirements and USP testing procedures.

· Ability to organize and prioritize multiple testing activities and deadlines.

· Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate laboratory and research data.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· excellent organizational and time-management skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

· Ability to read, interpret, and follow SOPs, test methods, operating manuals, maintenance manuals, and other technical documentation.

· Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with laboratory personnel, management, and cross-functional teams.

· Commitment to safety, quality, accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.


Physical Demands

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, talk, and hear as required.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Ability to read and interpret operating, maintenance, procedure and other technical documents.

Compensation

· $23.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
