Description

Position Overview

This is a fast-paced position that has the responsibility of providing the mixed bulk product to the production line.

Assumes responsibility and accountability to produce BBF and private label granolas, mueslis, trail mixes, and cereals. Assumes responsibility and accountability for picking raw ingredients; for mixing or traying, and packaging of bulk products. Works in a team environment to communicate effectively, manage time, and coordinate activities to achieve maximum productivity.

Assumes responsibility and accountability for performing all duties accurately and efficiently while achieving established quality standards. Assumes responsibility and accountability for complying with Company and regulatory policies governing safety, hygiene, and the manufacturing of foods.

Manufactures, mixes, and bulk packs the scheduled granolas, mueslis, trail mixes, and cereals, following written or stated procedures using the weekly Production Plan to guide decisions and ensure on-time delivery. Accurately and efficiently follows all SOPs to ensure the quality production of all products. Maintains a clean and orderly state of both the kitchen and the warehouse as effected by job responsibilities. Meets or exceeds efficiency standards by adjusting work style and effort.


Essential Job Duties

· Work on wet and/or dry production lines.

· Ensure food products meet desired quality and safety standards by completing checks (batch records completion, first article checks and mixer clearance checks)

· Cleans the production facility according to the Master Sanitation schedule and guiding SOPs. Performs sanitation with use of power washers and other sanitation equipment as directed by their supervisor. Individual personal protective equipment will be provided for use by BBF while performing sanitation.

· Respond promptly to spills to ensure safety and cleanliness. Under the direction of the Supervisor, performs all established housekeeping activities at end of shift. Submits questions, concerns, or suggestions about the safety of the work environment or quality of the product.

Completes quality reports for defects and assures timely communication of these issues to Supervisor.

· Performs off-line secondary packaging as required. Assists with other operations tasks as dictated by schedule needs.

Requirements

 

Competencies

· Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.

· Must be able to use a calculator and be proficient in basic math functions such as addition, multiplication, division, and calculating percentages.

· Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions in English.

· Must have ability to manage time and work independently. Must be able to pay attention to detail, follow procedures, and solve problems.

· Must be able to drive a forklift and manage a pallet jack.


Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment

· This job is operated in a warehouse/manufacturing facility.

· Work on wet and/or dry production area.

· Exposure to allergens (e.g., peanuts), odors, fumes, dust, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration is frequent.

· Noise levels can be loud.

· Temperature in the warehouse varies with weather conditions.


Physical Demands

· Regularly required to talk or hear.

· Must be able to lift 50-pound bags to shoulder height and carry them continuously over the course of an eight-hour shift.

· 90% of the scheduled work time is spent standing. Walking, stooping, lifting, sitting, standing, reaching, repetitive movements, kneeling, and crouching as needed to perform the job.



Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

· This is a full-time position.

· Typical work hours and days are either Monday – Friday

· Shifts are from 5:00am – 1:30pm

· Occasional overtime may be required.


Travel

· Occasional travel within 5 miles may be required.


Required Education and Experience

· High school diploma or equivalent.


Preferred Education and Experience

· Prior experience working in a GMP/FDA-regulated facility.
