The Mechanical Assembler I performs basic mechanical assembly tasks while learning company processes, safety standards, quality requirements, and production procedures. This position works under the guidance of experienced assemblers and supervisors to develop foundational manufacturing and assembly skills.

Key Responsibilities:

· Utilize basic computer skills to access engineering drawings, 3D models, work instructions, and other production documents.

· Accurately measure materials and components using both standard (inch) and metric (millimeter) measuring systems.

· Work collaboratively with experienced assemblers and assist Mechanical Assemblers -Skilled level assemblers or higher while developing the skills necessary to perform assigned work center tasks independently.

· Demonstrate a willingness to learn new assembly techniques, processes, and procedures through hands-on training and mentorship.

· Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic that contributes to a productive team environment.

· Operate power/hand tools, measuring devices, and instruments used for assembly.

· Adhere to established work schedules, break periods, and company policies regarding phone use, smoking, music, and general workplace conduct.

· Consistently wear and utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, safety footwear, and other designated safety equipment.

· Support and maintain 5S workplace organization standards and housekeeping requirements within the assigned work center.

· Understand and follow quality standards and workmanship requirements for assigned tasks and responsibilities.

 · Education: High School Diploma/GED required

· Experience: One year of continuous experience in a manufacturing environment required

· Reading Ability: Must be able to read and understand English

Skills:

· Basic computer skills.

· Ability to read tape measures and perform basic measurements in standard and metric units.

· Accurately interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, and written assembly instructions.

· Perform mechanical equipment troubleshooting according to inspection procedures.

· Maintain high-quality output and on-time delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Exhibit strong attention to detail.

· Provide flexible support across all production areas as needed.

Physical Demands:

This position differs from a typical assembly line role. Employees do not remain in one location throughout the shift. The assembly process requires working inside, around, and on top of large enclosures, including the use of scissor lifts and performing work at heights of 16-18 feet. Applicants should be comfortable working in elevated positions and in a physically active manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, lift and/or move up to 40 lbs., bend, use hands, and fingers for 8 + hours. (Overtime may be required)
