Description
Position Summary:
The Clinical Lead serves as a key figure in the healthcare team, providing leadership and guidance to clinical staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role involves a combination of administrative, managerial, and clinical responsibilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to clinical staff, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Mentor and support team members to enhance their clinical skills and professional development.
- Oversee and coordinate clinical activities to ensure adherence to established protocols, standards, and guidelines.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care provided by clinical staff.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care.
- Participate in care planning and decision-making processes.
- Develop and implement training programs for clinical staff, keeping them informed about new protocols, technologies, and best practices.
- Conduct regular educational sessions to enhance the skills of the clinical team.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to identify and address areas for improvement in patient care.
- Participate in audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the development and review of clinical policies and procedures.
- Ensure that clinical practices align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate effective communication within the clinical team and with other departments.
- Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and senior management.
- Advocate for the needs and preferences of patients, ensuring their voice is heard in the care planning process.
- Address patient concerns and complaints in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance in accordance with company policies and departmental scheduling requirements.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid and active Driver’s License.
- Five years of experience in clinical operations supervision.
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant.
- Proficiency in all aspects of ophthalmic care.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and train professional staff.
Skills and Abilities:
- Training in HIPAA requirements and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- In-depth knowledge of clinical best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology efficiently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel between clinic locations as needed.
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be adaptable to frequent transitions between standing and sitting.
- May need to walk up and down stairs.
- Visual acuity for reading, writing, and typing information on screens and paper.
- Adequate hearing for understanding inquiries and conversations.
- Must be able to add support for elderly patients getting in and out of exam chairs.
- Lift, carry and push up to 30lbs.
