Business Intelligence Analyst

Description

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst—PMO will support the Department of State (DOS) with business analysis, requirements management, software testing, quality assurance, documentation, and Agile project coordination activities. The position will gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements; translate stakeholder needs into user stories and system enhancements; develop and execute test cases; support functional, regression, and user acceptance testing; and document defects and issues. The analyst will also prepare process documentation, reports, training materials, and presentations while coordinating with government stakeholders, developers, testers, and project teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, process flows, and system enhancements. 
  • Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. 
  • Develop and execute test cases and test scripts for functional, regression, and user acceptance testing. 
  • Document, track, and validate defects and issues using testing or issue-tracking tools. 
  • Support quality assurance test planning, validation, and coordination with development teams and stakeholders. 
  • Prepare functional documentation, reports, standard operating procedures, training materials, presentations, and user guides. 
  • Coordinate with developers, government stakeholders, business users, and other project team members to clarify requirements and support solution delivery. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs, document processes, and support system improvements. 
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, estimation, and status updates.


Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, computer science, mathematics, information technology, business analysis, or a related discipline.
  • Min 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a related field.
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating business and technical requirements.
  • Experience developing process flows, functional requirements, user stories, and system enhancement documentation.
  • Experience supporting software and system testing, including functional testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Experience writing and executing test cases and test scripts.
  • Experience documenting and tracking defects and issues using testing or issue-tracking tools.
  • Experience supporting quality assurance test planning and validation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • DOS experience is preferred.
  • Federal government experience is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and meet DOS system-access requirements.


Salary Description
$125,000 - $140,000
