Director of Employment

Sertoma Center

Sertoma Center is seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Employment to lead and expand employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This leadership role oversees Employment Services, Project SEARCH, job coaching, employment development, and community-based employment programs while promoting person-centered, competitive, and integrated employment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership, supervision, and strategic direction for Employment Services and Project SEARCH programs.
• Supervise and support the Assistant Director, Project SEARCH staff, and job coaches.
• Develop partnerships with employers, Vocational Rehabilitation, community organizations, and other stakeholders to expand employment opportunities.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, training, professional development, and performance management for employment staff.
• Lead Project SEARCH operations, community outreach, marketing efforts, and steering committee activities.
• Ensure services are individualized, person-centered, and focused on successful employment outcomes.
• Monitor program quality, compliance, documentation, billing, and reporting requirements.
• Manage departmental resources, payroll approval, transportation coordination, and vehicle oversight.
• Support the implementation of innovative technology and best practices that promote workplace success and independence.
• Collaborate across departments, families, employers, schools, and community partners to remove barriers and enhance employment opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation, human services, education, business, social services, or a related field preferred.
• Leadership or supervisory experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, disability services, Project SEARCH, or a related field.
• Knowledge of supported employment and competitive, integrated employment practices.
• Experience working with Vocational Rehabilitation and employment funding sources preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance and high-quality services.
• Valid Tennessee driver's license and ability to travel within the community as needed.

Requirements:

• Valid Tennessee Driving License
• US Work Authorization
• Must be at least 19 years of age
• 3 years of driving experience
• No more than 3 moving violations on your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) within the past 3 years
• No prior felony convictions
• Written and Verbal Bilingual Fluency is a plus (but not required!)
