The Title and Insurance Clerk is responsible for assisting the Titles and Insurance Department in all aspects of title and insurance processing. Although a location will be assigned, employees may be asked to cover at other branches within that region. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
· Responsible for perfecting liens on all collateralized loans.
· Process title applications through MARVIN (Mississippi Automated Registration Vehicle Information Network) and ALVIN (Alabama Vehicle Information Network).
· Perfect UCCs through the Mississippi Secretary of State and Alabama Secretary of State.
· Update and maintain collateral title tracking for all received titles and UCCs.
· Assist members with the title perfection process in MS, AL, as well as other states.
· Process loan payoffs and prepare lien releases for members, dealerships, and insurance companies.
· Initiates and maintains the Suspense Report for loans without titles older than 60-90 days.
· Work with Collections to process repossessed titles that have been sold at auction.
· Verify that all collateral loans are properly insured.
· Contact members or insurance agents to obtain or verify insurance information. Coordinate with insurance tracking vendor to ensure accurate, professional service is provided to members.
· Add Collateral Protection Insurance premium to the member's loan per billing instructions. Adjust member's loan payments to ensure CPI premium doesn't extend the original terms of loan agreement. Adjust loan payment and due date if necessary if a full or partial refund of CPI is received.
· Review weekly CPI reports from insurance vendor, to ensure timely and accurate information. CPI GLs must be reviewed and balanced accordingly.
· Process Gap and Warranty Claims and post payments. Balance Gap GL.
· Assist with Navigator Loan Protection claims and settlements.
· Provide Letter of Guaranties including 10-day payoff and copy of title to insurance companies.
EXPERIENCE:
· Six months to two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
· Experience in a financial institution preferred
EDUCATION:
· High School diploma or equivalent is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Sitting; walking; bending; squatting; kneeling; pushing/pulling; reaching; twisting; frequent lifting of less than 10 lbs.; occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions.
