The Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis is a hands-on finance leader responsible for overseeing financial planning and analysis, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and selected accounting and financial operations for a rapidly growing ambulatory infusion and specialty pharmacy organization. This role translates financial and operational data into meaningful insights, strengthens financial processes and controls, and supports sound business decisions across the organization.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the VP partners with finance, accounting, revenue cycle, and operational leaders to improve financial visibility, monitor performance, support growth initiatives, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information. This position contributes to enterprise financial strategy while maintaining primary responsibility for the effective execution of assigned finance functions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

  • Manage the annual budgeting      process and periodic forecasting activities in collaboration with the Vice      President of Finance and department leaders.
  • Prepare financial models,      scenario analyses, and business cases to evaluate operating initiatives,      new infusion centers, service-line opportunities, capital investments, and      other growth projects.
  • Analyze revenue, patient volume,      referral trends, reimbursement, labor, drug costs, operating expenses, and      profitability by market, location, service line, payer, and other relevant      dimensions.
  • Monitor financial and operational      key performance indicators and identify trends, risks, and opportunities      requiring management attention.
  • Develop clear, timely management      reports and dashboards that support informed decision-making.
  • Perform budget-to-actual and      forecast variance analyses and partner with department leaders to      understand performance and develop corrective action plans.

Financial Reporting and Operations

  • Support the timely and accurate      completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Review financial results for      accuracy, completeness, and consistency and coordinate with accounting      leadership to resolve identified issues.
  • Help maintain financial policies,      procedures, reporting standards, and internal controls.
  • Support cash flow forecasting,      working capital analysis, and short- and long-term liquidity planning.
  • Partner with accounting to      improve processes involving the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts      receivable, payroll, accruals, and financial close.
  • Identify and implement      opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and      automation of finance processes.

Operational Finance and Business Partnership

  • Serve as a finance partner to      clinical, pharmacy, patient services, sales, revenue cycle, and other      operational leaders.
  • Help department leaders      understand financial performance, manage departmental budgets, and      evaluate operational decisions.
  • Translate complex financial      information into practical recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Support profitability improvement      initiatives through data analysis, cost management, productivity      measurement, and performance monitoring.
  • Assist with the development of      financial targets and accountability measures aligned with organizational      priorities.

Revenue Cycle and Reimbursement Support

  • Partner with revenue cycle      leadership to analyze reimbursement performance, collections, denials,      aging, payer mix, gross-to-net results, and revenue leakage.
  • Evaluate contract and payer      performance and provide financial analyses to support payer discussions      and specialty pharmacy arrangements.
  • Monitor trends affecting infusion      reimbursement, drug margins, patient responsibility, and contract      profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve      revenue capture, cash collections, and financial performance across the      revenue cycle.

Growth and Strategic Initiative Support

  • Provide financial analysis for de      novo infusion center development, market expansion, service-line growth,      and strategic partnerships.
  • Support financial due diligence,      integration planning, and post-transaction performance tracking for      acquisitions as assigned.
  • Assist the Vice President of      Finance with materials for executive leadership, lenders, investors, and      the Board of Directors.
  • Track the financial performance      of approved strategic initiatives and communicate results, risks, and      recommended actions.

Compliance, Controls, and Audit Support

  • Support compliance with GAAP,      internal policies, and applicable healthcare financial requirements.
  • Assist with external audits,      tax-related requests, lender reporting, and other financial compliance      activities.
  • Partner with compliance, legal,      revenue cycle, and operational teams to identify and mitigate financial      and operational risks.
  • Promote consistent documentation,      appropriate approvals, and effective financial controls throughout      assigned areas.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop      assigned finance and accounting team members.
  • Establish clear priorities,      performance expectations, and accountability for high-quality and timely      work.
  • Promote a collaborative,      service-oriented culture focused on accuracy, transparency, continuous      improvement, and business partnership.
  • Support cross-training, knowledge      sharing, and succession planning within the finance function.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance,      Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Eight or more years of      progressive finance or accounting experience, including at least three      years in a finance leadership or management role.
  • Experience in healthcare      services, ambulatory infusion, specialty pharmacy, home infusion, provider      operations, or another complex healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting,      forecasting, financial modeling, management reporting, accounting      principles, and operational finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze      complex financial and operational data and translate findings into      actionable recommendations.
  • Experience partnering with senior      leaders and presenting financial information to both financial and      non-financial audiences.
  • Demonstrated success improving      financial processes, controls, reporting, or decision-support      capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with      Microsoft Excel and experience using financial systems, reporting      platforms, and business intelligence tools.

Preferred

  • MBA, CPA, CMA, CFA, or other      relevant advanced degree or professional credential.
  • Experience in ambulatory      infusion, specialty pharmacy, home infusion, or alternate-site healthcare      services.
  • Experience in a high-growth or      private equity-backed healthcare organization.
  • Familiarity with healthcare      reimbursement, buy-and-bill models, specialty pharmacy economics, payer      contracting, and revenue cycle operations.
  • Experience supporting      acquisitions, integrations, de novo expansion, or other strategic growth      initiatives.
