HVAC Install Helper

Around this time of year, a lot of shops start cutting crews. Climate Control is doing the opposite and adding people. If you want to learn HVAC installation the right way and build toward Lead Installer, this is where you start.

Job Duties
The Install Helper works alongside the Lead Installer to install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems properly, to code and industry standards. You'll communicate with customers before, during, and after the install to deliver a 5-star experience, keep their home fully protected throughout the job, and complete all pre-install, safety, and post-install checklists accurately.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a customer experience that exceeds the expectations set by the SRM or Comfort Advisor
• Communicate professionally throughout the install, and make sure the customer is fully prepared to operate their new system at completion
• Assist with installing furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and ductwork per minimum standards and manufacturer installation requirements
• Assist with thorough start-up and testing of installed systems; complete and sign the Safety, Quality, and Assurance Report
• Follow safety procedures and use required protective equipment; complete and sign the Job Site Hazard Analysis Report (JHAR) before starting work
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used; at job completion, call in to the Project Management Team with any issues or replenishment needs
• Collaborate with team members and project managers to complete installs on schedule
• Stay current with industry standards, building codes, and licensing requirements

 Qualifications

• 6 months of experience as an HVAC install helper preferred
• EPA 608 certification, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
• Must be 18 years of age or older to apply

Working Conditions
This role works indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures. It regularly requires climbing, heavy lifting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching. You'll need to work in tight spaces such as attics and crawlspaces, lift 50 lbs, push, pull, or maneuver heavier items, and occasionally work at heights of 15+ feet. The role requires good visual acuity (close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception) and a willingness to work hours outside the normal schedule when needed.
