Description

As a Project Accountant, you’ll play an important role in supporting the financial success of our projects from start to finish. You’ll partner with Project Managers and internal teams to set up projects, review contracts, manage invoicing, monitor accounts receivable, and help ensure accurate and timely project financials.

Who You Are 

  • You have at least four years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.  
  • You understand project accounting and billing. You have experience supporting project-related accounting functions, including project setup, contract review, invoicing, accounts receivable and project financial monitoring.  
  • You know the A/E/C industry. You have knowledge of billing processes within an architecture, engineering or construction environment.  
  • You’re detail-oriented and quality-focused. Accuracy matters to you, and you take pride in producing timely, reliable work.  
  • You’re organized and comfortable juggling priorities. You can effectively manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.  
  • You’re a strong communicator and collaborator. You’re comfortable working with Project Managers, Division Managers, accounting team members and external clients to resolve questions and keep projects moving forward.   
  • You’re comfortable working with accounting and business systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required; experience with Deltek Vision is a plus.  

What You’ll Do 

  • You’ll set projects up for financial success. You’ll review contracts and establish projects within the appropriate systems, helping ensure accurate billing and financial tracking from the start.   
  • You’ll manage the monthly billing cycle. You’ll coordinate project billing activities and prepare accurate, timely client invoices.  
  • You’ll ensure billing requirements are met. You’ll prepare required forms and coordinate supporting billing documentation in accordance with client contracts.  
  • You’ll help keep accounts receivable on track. You’ll review outstanding A/R and partner with Project Managers to support collection efforts and resolve outstanding balances.  
  • You’ll be a financial resource for our project teams. You’ll collaborate with the Controller, Division Managers and Project Managers on WIP analysis, project monitoring and invoice issue resolution.  
  • You’ll support projects from start to finish. You’ll assist with project audits and closeouts and help ensure financial records and documentation are complete and accurate.  
  • You’ll pitch in where needed. You’ll support special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed.
