Position Summary

We are a generator service company with branches across the United States. We are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join our corporate accounting team and support the general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting across our multi-branch operations. This role will also play a key part in integrating new acquisitions, including purchase accounting and opening balance sheet reconciliations, and in strengthening our accounting processes and internal controls as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and other required or ad hoc financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Drive the monthly general ledger close process, including account reconciliations and preparation and posting of journal entries, and incorporate close process improvements using FloQast and other tools.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis (actual vs. budget) and review material variances with the Accounting Manager and CFO; investigate discrepancies by coordinating with relevant departments.
  • Evaluate accounting systems and procedures; recommend and implement improvements to strengthen internal controls and increase efficiency. 
  • Provide accounting support to management by clarifying expense-related issues and ensuring proper treatment of transactions.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support external auditors during annual and interim audits.
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns for multiple states and ensure timely compliance.
  • Support purchase accounting and other M&A activities, including building out accounting systems and opening balance sheet reconciliations for new acquisitions.
  • Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including adjustments research and invoice review. 
  • Support annual compliance processes, including business licenses and annual reports.
  • Maintain accurate vendor and customer master data within the accounting system.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and internal control requirements.

     


Requirements

 Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-branch/multi-division organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required. 
  • CPA or active pursuit of CPA licensure preferred.
  • Microsoft Office suite, advanced Excel skills. Data analytics certificates/experience a plus.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Avalara, Sage 100, QuickBooks, and Salesforce a plus.
