Job Title: Bartender – Premier Airline Lounge (IAH AIrport)
Location: George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Terminal D, Houston, TX
Certification Required: TABC (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) Certified

Job Summary

The Air France Lounge Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to premium international travelers in a fast-paced airport lounge environment. This role supports Air France's branded guest experience, requiring polished, professional service, strict compliance with Texas alcohol service laws, and the ability to manage service efficiently around flight departure times.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, stock, and requisition the bar, including beer, wine, spirits, and paper/bar supplies
• Prepare and serve beverages to lounge guests with a high standard of hospitality reflecting the Air France brand
• Check guest ID to verify legal drinking age (21+) before serving alcohol
• Practice responsible alcohol service, including portion control and refusing service when appropriate, per TABC regulations
• Monitor the self-serve or attended bar/buffet area 
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, lounge, and surrounding guest areas
• Operate POS/cashiering systems if applicable
• Perform opening and closing duties, including inventory and cleaning
• Communicate courteously with an international clientele; additional languages (especially French) are a plus given the airline's branding
• Comply with airport security requirements, including obtaining/maintaining a SIDA badge

Requirements

• Valid TABC Certification (required)
• Food Handler Certification (typically required)
• At least 1 year of bartending or related beverage service experience
• Ability to pass an airport security/background check
• Ability to stand/walk for extended shifts (6–8+ hours) and lift up to 50 lbs
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Strong English communication skills, verbal and written; French language skills a plus but not always required

Compensation & Benefits (typical for this role type)

• Hourly wage plus tips
• May include medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), PTO, and holiday pay depending on the contracting employer
• Please note: due to the nature of lounge service, gratuities are minimal. Compensation is primarily hourly-wage based.
