Indirect Underwriter | Location: 11149 Research Blvd, Austin, TX | Schedule: Monday- Friday 9:30-6:30 & Saturdays from 10am-6pm based off operational business needs| Salary Range: $50,000- $57,500 | FLSA Status: Nonexempt

This role serves as a key point of contact for dealers while ensuring loans comply with credit union criteria, standard operating procedures, and state and federal requirements. What You'll Do

Underwriting & Credit Risk

• Understand and implement lending guidelines to maintain an acceptable credit risk in accordance with organizational standards
• Ensure all loans submitted through indirect channels comply with ATFCU lending criteria, internal policies, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain a charge-off portfolio of less than 1% through sound underwriting practices
• Assist with the calculation of chargebacks and dealer reserves to ensure ongoing compliance

Dealer Relations & Loan Support

• Respond to dealers in a timely manner regarding all loan applications and request necessary contracts for approved requests
• Work directly with dealers to resolve contract issues that fall outside of original approvals using diplomacy and tact
• Assist in obtaining outstanding chargebacks, dealer reserves, and lien perfections on indirect accounts
• Perform dealer outreach to build and maintain strong professional relationships
• Provide regular feedback to management regarding dealer interactions to support program adjustments and improvements
• Demonstrate patience and professionalism when interacting with dealers to facilitate proper lending decisions

Compliance & Regulatory Requirements

• Maintain working knowledge of state and federal guidelines, including Reg B, Reg Z, FCRA/FACTA, and the Bank Secrecy Act
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state rules pertaining to Anti-Money Laundering, the Bank Bribery Act, and NCUA Privacy Regulations
• Attend initial and ongoing annual training sessions as required

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of consumer underwriting experience or 1 year of consumer lending experience at ATFCU 
• Strong analytical skills and goal-oriented mindset
• Advanced computer proficiency and professional writing skills
• Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• College degree or business-related education
• Previous indirect lending experience
• Previous bank or credit union experience
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Previous experience in sales or customer service background
• Knowledge of credit union operations and financial services
